Anthony H. Pelle Discusses Fixed Annuity Regulation at DRI Claims Conference

MIAMI - Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Miami shareholder Anthony H. Pelle recently served as a panelist at the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Life, Health, Disability, and ERISA Claims seminar held in Chicago, IL.

Pelle presented a program entitled “Fixed Annuity Regulation – How Far Will the SEC Go?,” which focused on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s efforts to bring indexed annuities within the scope of the Securities Act.

DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. It provides numerous educational and informational resources to DRI members and offers many opportunities for liaison among defense trial lawyers, Corporate America, and state and local defense organizations. DRI also has an international presence, seeking to enhance understanding of the law among members of the defense community who have reason to be concerned with the expanding globalization of litigation defense.

Pelle is co-chair of Carlton Fields' Insurance Practice Group. He has defended life, health, and disability insurers in individual and class action claims for over 20 years, and also practices in the areas of personal injury, commercial litigation, admiralty and maritime, and health care. He currently serves as Chair of DRIs Life, Health, and Disability's Legislative Affairs Sub-Committee.
