Atlanta, Ga. – Carlton Fields Atlanta Shareholder, Dan Weede, is making a difference in his community in a big way. He has put his real estate and legal expertise to work in non-traditional ways, helping to transform eight acres of a rundown lot into a community park in Buckhead. Why? In 2008, Weede learned of an incident that happened in the run-down lot three days after the Christmas holiday. A woman was jogging near a wooded area overgrown with kudzu and covered with construction debris, and she was attacked. When a car neared the corner, the attacker ran off into the woods. Weede, a neighbor, was alarmed by the incident and took it upon himself to clean up the lot.
After more than three years of getting volunteers on board to clean up the area and trying to work with state and local authorities to help, Weede and others dedicated to this project have changed the area into what is now known as Mountain Way Park. He shared his story with the Fulton County Daily Report and the article published today, “From Sketchy Underpass to Bright Buckhead Park.”
Weede practices in the firm’s Real Estate and Finance practice group and has more than 20 years of experience representing hotel brands, owners, developers, lender and managers in all aspects of hotel ownership, management and financing.
