Miami, Fla. – September 19, 2011 –
Edith G. Osman, a Miami Shareholder with Carlton Fields, received the
South Florida Business Journal’s 2011 Influential Business Women Award at a luncheon held September 15 at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale. Recipients of this award are chosen based on their impressive backgrounds, accomplishments, and contributions, with the hope that their recognition will serve as an inspiration to other women.
Osman is a past president of The Florida Bar, a past president of The Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) statewide and for the Dade County Chapter, and past president of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society and the First Family Inn of Court. She chairs the firm’s Family Law Practice Group and focuses her practice on matrimonial law as well as commercial litigation. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator. She received a law degree,
cum laude, in 1983 from the University of Miami School of Law
