Ivonne Barroso Joins Carlton Fields in the Miami Office

MIAMI – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Ivonne Barroso recently joined the firm as an associate in the firm’s Miami office.

Barroso practices in the firm's Health Care Practice Group. She counsels hospitals and medical businesses on issues related to healthcare litigation, operations and medical staffs. Barroso also specializes in labor and employment and commercial litigation. She has significant experience counseling clients on litigation strategies in federal and state court at the trial and appellate levels. Barroso is also a certified Circuit Court Mediator.

Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Barroso was an associate with the law firms of Fowler Rodriguez Valdes-Fauli, Zuckerman Spaeder, LLP, and Greenberg Traurig, P.A.. She earned her law degree cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a member of the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review and a member of the University of Miami Moot Court Board. During law school, she was a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow, interning for the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center. Barroso earned her undergraduate degree cum laude from Florida State University. Before law school, she served as a legislative assistant for Florida State Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Barroso is a member of the Board of Directors of Communities In Schools of Miami, which is a private, nonprofit organization that connects resources from public and private sectors with students at-risk of dropping out of school. She co-authored an article titled “Implement an Antitrust Compliance Program” published in the Miami Herald and Opportunity World Magazine. Barroso speaks Spanish fluently.
