04.04.2011

MIAMI – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Miami Shareholder Jeffrey Michael Cohen recently served on the faculty of a legal course, “Building Trial Skills: Florida.”

The course was offered as part of a week-long program held by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida March 5-12. It was attended by lawyers from across the nation interested in improving their trial advocacy by participating in a wide variety of exercises performed in a simulated courtroom environment.

NITA is the nation’s leading provider of legal advocacy skills training. A not-for-profit organization based in Boulder, Colorado, it pioneered the legal skills learning-by-doing methodology over 35 years ago and has since remained the ultimate standard in continuing legal education. Cohen has served as a NITA faculty member for 20 years.

A member of Carlton Fields’ Insurance Litigation & Regulation Practice Group, Cohen concentrates his practice in the trial of complex commercial and insurance lawsuits, and counseling clients involved in significant litigation. Cohen earned his J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law and his A.B. from Colgate University. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a Civil Trial Lawyer and an Adjunct Professor of Trial Skills at the University of Miami School of Law.
