Jin Liu Appointed to Co-Vice Chair of the International Investment in Real Estate Committee within the ABA

TAMPA BAY -- Carlton Fields St. Petersburg associate Jin Liu was recently appointed Co-Vice Chair of the International Investment in Real Estate Committee of the Real Property, Probate & Trust (RPPT) Section of the American Bar Association (ABA).

With over 30,000 members, the RPPT Section is a leading national forum for lawyers that focus on legal aspects of property use, ownership, development, transfer, regulation, financing, taxation, and disposal as well as all aspects of trusts, estate planning, employee benefits, insurance, and probate and trust litigation.

The International Investment in Real Estate Committee works within the Special Investors and Investments Structure Group of the RPPT Section. This committee focuses specifically on foreign investment in U.S. real estate and U.S. real estate investment and development in foreign countries. The committee monitors law and practice developments affecting foreign investment in U.S. real estate and law and practice issues relating to U.S. involvement in foreign real estate investment and development activities. Liu practices in the Carlton Fields’ Real Estate and Finance Practice and Corporate, Securities & Tax Practice Group. Her practice focuses on advising developers of large commercial and residential projects on purchase and sale of both improved and unimproved property, business planning and implementation, transaction structuring, partnerships, limited liability companies, joint ventures, and loan transactions. She also has experience advising lenders and developers on condominium issues and representing domestic and international clients in mergers and acquisitions and private placement transactions. Liu received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law in 2005. She received her Bachelor of Law degree from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in China in 2002 and her B.A. in English from Sichuan International Studies University in China in 2002. Liu is fluent in Chinese.
