ATLANTA – Carlton Fields congratulates Atlanta associate M. Derek Harris for being selected to the inaugural class of the Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).

Harris practices in the Business and Trade Regulation Practice Group in the firm’s Atlanta office. He represents clients in the areas of real estate litigation, government regulation, construction, insurance, and general litigation. Harris received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002 and his B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1999.

Formed in 2009, the LCLD is an organization made up of attorneys and chief legal officers dedicated to creating a truly diverse legal profession. Their vision is to significantly advance diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. The LCLD Fellows Program is a mentoring program intended to help diversify the legal professional by championing select attorneys with strong leadership and networking skills who also enjoy relationships with industry leaders – and who are committed to fostering diversity within their individual institutions. The LCLD recently launched the Fellows Program during a gathering in New York.

Harris along with approximately 100 other attorneys from around the country was recognized in the March 28, 2011 issue of the National Law Journal. To learn more about LCLD, please visit www.lcldnet.org
