Mac Richard McCoy Recognized for Leadership and Volunteerism During Tampa Connection 2010 Graduation Ceremony

06.09.2010

TAMPA – Carlton Fields Tampa shareholder Mac Richard McCoy was recognized for community leadership and volunteer service during the Tampa Connection 25th Annual Graduation Ceremony. McCoy, Class of 2010, joined the ranks of more than 1,500 professionals who have graduated from The Tampa Connection since 1985. The Tampa Connection is an all-volunteer, nonprofit leadership program that prepares mid-level professionals for active volunteerism and leadership in the Tampa Bay community.

McCoy joined Carlton Fields in 2003 and practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, class action defense, and real property litigation, including representation of title insurance companies. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2001 and a dual B.A., magna cum laude, from Stetson University in 1998.

In addition to workshops introducing participants to local and regional issues, The Tampa Connection class members partner with nonprofit organizations to develop and implement comprehensive service projects that address current community needs, donating more than 1,500 hours of volunteer service hours annually during the ten-month program. Service projects are selected based on current community needs and often continue after each class ends. McCoy served as Co-Team Leader in a service project to benefit On Our Own (www.onourownfl.com), a nonprofit organization that aims to increase independence, community involvement and quality of life for young adults with developmental disabilities.
