MIAMI – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Miami attorney Maria Chang Mayer was appointed to serve a one-year term on the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Pillar Trustee Board of Directors.
Mayer was installed at the Chamber’s 2010 Annual Meeting, held October 5 at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach where the new Chairman of the Chamber was sworn in by Katherine Fernandez Rundle, State Attorney for Miami-Dade County.
The Chamber’s Pillar Trustees seek to energize economic growth in Miami Beach, provide leadership for effective community involvement, aid in the advancement of education, support progressive government, and initiate projects and ideas that benefit both businesses and residents.
Mayer is a member of Carlton Fields’ Corporate, Securities & Tax Practice Group. She focuses her practice on a wide variety of legal transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, private equity and venture capital investments and related general corporate matters. She represents both U.S. and non-U.S. entities in a wide range of domestic and international corporate matters including multi-jurisdictional projects. She has represented private and public companies, entrepreneurs and private equity funds in a wide variety of strategic and financial transactions as well as in corporate governance and other general corporate matters. Mayer received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Florida.
