Merrick L. "Rick" Gross Appointed Chair of the ABA Ad Hoc Committee on Judges Initiative

MIAMI – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Miami Shareholder Merrick L. “Rick” Gross was appointed Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section’s Ad Hoc Committee on Judges Initiative.

The mission of the Ad Hoc Committee on Judges Initiative is to provide a committee within the Business Law Section specifically dedicated to its judicial members. It seeks to provide current and prospective judicial members of the Business Law Section with a forum to interact with other judges and exchange ideas on topics of mutual interest, opportunities for education, and the ability to participate in Business Law Section activities.

Gross has more than 23 years of legal experience serving a variety of business clients. He has a multifaceted commercial litigation practice including aspects of banking litigation, real estate, creditors’ rights, securities matters, and business torts, and has litigated cases involving such claims in Federal and State courts in Florida and throughout the United States. He has also handled commercial loan workouts and foreclosures involving all types of real property including raw land, retail, office, multi-family and condominiums in Florida as well as other parts of the United States. Gross received his J.D. in 1987 from Boston University School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, in 1984 from Emory University.
