Miami Attorney Appointed Co-Chair of the Class Action Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Litigation Section’s Commercial & Business Litigation Committee

Miami, Fla. – Carlton Fields’ Miami attorney Aaron S. Weiss was appointed co-chair of the Class Action Subcommittee of the American Bar Association (ABA) Litigation Section’s Commercial & Business Litigation Committee. Weiss will serve a one-year term.

Weiss is a member of Carlton Fields Business and Trade Litigation group, where he focuses on complex commercial litigation with a substantial emphasis on class actions. His experience in the class action area includes representing numerous banks in several cases pending in MDL 2036 (In re Checking Account Overdraft Litigation) in the Southern District of Florida; multiple class action cases relating to alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act; defending VOIP phone service providers in consumer class actions; products liability class actions; and, defending “M & A” strike suit class action cases.

Weiss is a part of the firm’s Class Actions team that has been defending class actions for more than 30 years. In the last two years alone, the firm defended more than 100 class actions throughout the United States for major corporations.
