Tallahassee Attorney Nancy Linnan Named “Best Lawyer of the Year” for Land Use & Zoning

10.11.2011

Linnan is the Only Lawyer in Tallahassee to Receive This Ranking and Specialty

Tallahassee, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that the firm’s Tallahassee Office Managing Shareholder Nancy Linnan was named “Best Lawyer of the Year” 2012 for the practice of Land Use & Zoning.

After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2012) is based on more than 3.9 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers. The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high ratings in our surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.

In September, Carlton Fields announced that 67 attorneys were selected for inclusion in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Linnan has been named a “Best Lawyer” since 2005 in the specialties of Environmental Law, Government Relations, Land Use & Zoning and Real Estate Law.
Linnan practices primarily in the areas of environmental/land use and administrative law and government consulting. She is the Practice Group Leader of the firm's Government Law and Consulting Practice. In the growth management area, she works with developments of regional impact, comprehensive plan amendments, sector plans and local land use approvals. She also works with the Florida Legislature, state agencies and local governments in policy development.
