Miami, Fla. – Carlton Fields Miami Attorney Yolanda V. Paschal
was recently elected as President-elect of the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association. The organization seeks to articulate and promote the goals of African American lawyers in Miami-Dade County while fostering a greater awareness of the civil and political rights of the local African American community. She previously served as Secretary of the organization.
Paschal will lead the organization in providing mentoring, networking and financial assistance to numerous law and undergraduate students. She will also be involved in the mentoring programs and oratorical contests for elementary and high school students. In addition, she will assist the organization in hosting various events such as judicial forums, symposiums and Continuing Legal Education lectures. The organization, founded in 1977, has had an impact on the legal, civic and political landscape of Miami-Dade County.
Paschal handles a wide variety of complex business litigation matters ranging from aviation-related tort litigation to commercial foreclosures. She is involved in all aspects of litigation, which includes drafting of pleadings, case dispositive motions, and discovery; attending hearings; and negotiating settlements.
