In the business of law, fast, accessible on-line client service and information delivery is the wave of the future – and critical for the present.
Carlton Fields is committed to cutting edge technological leadership. The firm partners with major vendors to provide our clients with the information they need – accurately, instantly, and securely.
The firm’s desktop computing environment features state of the art IBM desktops and laptops connected to a combination of local and regional server farms. Dual SAN solutions support server farms in Miami and Tampa for high data availability. The interconnecting wide area network is fully redundant – with dual PVC routings and automated fail over to two regional Internet gateways supported on Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, and intrusion detection equipment.
Carlton Fields provides additional layers of security for laptops and telecommuters. All remote access is provided through a secure VPN tunnel on Cisco equipment, with local intrusion detection on the end node device. Virus protection is provided on multiple levels. Each Carlton Fields office has a dedicated virus protection server, maintaining current virus definition files on every server and desktop in the office-home network. A secondary tool scans and quarantines every e-mail attachment entering and leaving the Carlton Fields network.
Video conferencing facilities and equipment in each of our offices allows us to conduct multi-party, multi-state video meetings, witness interviews, and depositions.
iCONECT, one of our client portal solutions, provides a secure cutting-edge extranet that allows clients to manage, in real time, dynamic and fast moving business transactions and litigation. Through this portal we provide secure access to Concordance databases, imaged documents with full redaction, file collaboration, e-mail, calendaring, and chat.
The firm’s information systems department comprises of network engineers certified in Microsoft networks and application suites, applications support staff, database engineers, telecommunications analysts, hardware technicians, and help desk personnel.
Litigation support services are provided to our clients and attorneys through the practice technology department. These services include automated case management, document imaging, coding and production, data management, case presentation tools, and extranet access. The department staff includes highly skilled analysts and specially trained technicians.
Carlton Fields attorneys and staff attend extensive technology orientations written and conducted by in-house applications trainers. Continuing education on Carlton Fields’ various applications and legal tools is offered through the firm’s innovative web-based training known as CF University.
In short, Carlton Fields is committed to using appropriate technology to reduce costs, maximize efficiency, improve quality, and enhance the benefits of our client services.
