practice groups, as many larger firms do as well. However, Carlton Fields is
not so large that people get lost in the fray. People took the time to get to
know me as a person, which is so important considering a position as a summer associate is an opportunity to narrow focus and discern individual interests.
I felt that, going through the interview process, many firms were saying different versions of the same thing. While a "commitment to pro bono work" and "collegial atmosphere" are great to hear about in an interview, things like that are
meaningless if they don't transfer over to the workplace. At Carlton Fields,
their mission statement isn't aspirational, it's actual. The firm's objective
goes beyond simply generating business and focuses on helping lawyers
fulfill the highest ideals of the profession. " |
