T. Kate Celender William and Mary School of Law "Carlton Fields makes its commitment to the success of their summer associates clear throughout the entire summer program. From the firm-wide orientation with all the summer associates to everyday questions at the office, the attorneys and staff make the summer associates feel like a productive and valued part of the team. Furthermore, the training and mentoring programs encourage each summer associate to reach her highest potential while simultaneously promoting further improvement. I could not imagine a better place to spend a summer." |

Sean P. Jessee Emory University Law School "I believe my summer experience had the perfect mix of substantive and meaningful work, observation opportunities, and social events to get to know the firm's attorneys. Carlton Fields differs from other law firms in that most of the attorneys get along, work together, and seem to genuinely enjoy what they are doing." |

Ryan A. Ulloa University of Pennsylvania Law School "The Summer Associate Program at Carlton Fields exposes a law student to a wide range of challenging legal assignments in a supportive and encouraging environment. During orientation we received a binder that had our name on it followed by 'You are our future,' and it was immediately evident that the firm was committed to us becoming a significant part of the firm's success. That feeling has transcended the summer and I depart for school with a solid educational experience and a vivid image of how I would fit in with the firm." |

I conducted legal research and writing for various practice groups and the attorneys actually incorporated my work product in their cases. Above all, the transparency of the firm and the collegiality of the partners, associates, and staff alike was exceptional. I would recommend Carlton Fields to students who desire a healthy balance of challenging work and high quality of life." |

Colin M. Bennett University of Michigan Law School "My summer at Carlton Fields has been a tremendously rewarding experience. I have gained insight into how law is practiced at a sophisticated level, and have had the privilege of working with a talented and dedicated group of attorneys and support staff. Throughout the summer I have had opportunities to work on substantive matters of law, treated not as a temporary summer employee but as one whose opinions and input are valued. However what has truly set Carlton Fields' summer program apart has been the accessibility and friendliness of everyone at the firm, a group who have consistently demonstrated a genuine interest in helping me to learn the practice of law. The strength of the firm's summer mentoring program is one example of this dedication, and has been extremely beneficial to my professional development." |

April M. Justus Stetson University College of Law "Summering at Carlton Fields has been one of the best all around experiences I have ever had. As a summer associate, I was able to work on complex matters with talented and respected attorneys while also being afforded the opportunity to participate in professional and civic events. The balance the summer program provided was perfect, and truly provided insight as to what it would be like to be an attorney at Carlton Fields." |

Maureen Q. McGough George Washington University Law School "Carlton Fields is large enough to offer diverse exposure to many different practice groups, as many larger firms do as well. However, Carlton Fields is not so large that people get lost in the fray. People took the time to get to know me as a person, which is so important considering a position as a summer associate is an opportunity to narrow focus and discern individual interests. I felt that, going through the interview process, many firms were saying different versions of the same thing. While a "commitment to pro bono work" and "collegial atmosphere" are great to hear about in an interview, things like that are meaningless if they don't transfer over to the workplace. At Carlton Fields, their mission statement isn't aspirational, it's actual. The firm's objective goes beyond simply generating business and focuses on helping lawyers fulfill the highest ideals of the profession. " |

Brett B. Pettigrew Stetson University College of Law "The most impressive thing about Carlton Fields is the culture The firm manages to have a warm, collegial feel even though it is comprised of some of the most hard-working and talented attorneys around." |
