Practice Experience

  • Chris Coutroulis is the firm-wide leader of Carlton Fields largest practice group -- Business Litigation & Trade Regulation. He is also the chair of the firm’s Antitrust Group. He practices in the field of business and complex litigation covering a wide range of areas, among them antitrust, class actions, mass torts, environmental litigation, professional and accounting malpractice, securities fraud, and insurance coverage. He handles a wide variety of complex business litigation covering many different industries.
  • Mr. Coutroulis is particularly experienced in handling class actions and successfully defending against class certification. He has acted as lead trial counsel in numerous class actions including trials on the issue of class certification. He supervises the firm's class action task force as part of the practice group.
  • He is also particularly experienced in antitrust cases, and has handled a large number of antitrust cases, including through trial and binding arbitration, spanning many industries including credit cards, professional sports leagues, insurance, automotive, and energy. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Antitrust and Trade Regulation Law.
  • Mr. Coutroulis counsels clients on a range of antitrust and trade regulation matters, handles antitrust training for clients, and is experienced in alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Mr. Coutroulis also handles governmental antitrust investigations and demands.
  • Mr. Coutroulis is currently serving as one of the principal defense counsel in major multidistrict litigation involving thousands of pharmaceutical cases consolidated in a Florida federal court.
