Rebecca Shwayri is a business litigator, information technology lawyer, and privacy attorney who advises clients on e-discovery issues, complex business litigation and creditors' rights issues, cyber liability issues and cyber security policy, and contract litigation cases.

Ms. Shwayri supports utilizing innovative methods, including predictive coding technologies, to dramatically reduce e-discovery costs in litigation. She has managed large document productions involving electronically stored information and implemented and monitored litigation holds in cases. Ms. Shwayri is also an author and educator on e-discovery, privacy, and technology topics. She has published numerous articles on e-discovery, data security, and technology issues in national publications, has presented CLE programs to the corporate law departments of Fortune 500 companies, and is a regular monthly blogger on e-discovery and privacy issues on i-Sight.com. Ms. Shwayri is also an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the largest global information privacy community, where she serves as a member of the Publications Advisory Board.

As a business litigator, Ms. Shwayri has extensive experience litigating complex contract disputes and is also experienced in representing secured lenders in commercial foreclosure cases. In the privacy arena, Ms. Shwayri advises clients on cyber liability and privacy issues under state and federal law. She is a first responder to data privacy breaches and advises clients on the steps to take to minimize risks and liabilities after a security breach. Ms. Shwayri also oversees forensics investigations after a security breach and advises clients regarding their notification obligations under state and federal law. Ms. Shwayri is a member of Carlton Fields’ Information Security/Data Breach and E-Discovery task forces.
