Overview

Matthew Lewis is a trial attorney whose practice focuses on property and casualty insurance. He defends claims involving insurance services and coverage issues. Matthew represents clients in all phases of litigation and is experienced in negotiating case settlements and defending clients at trial.

Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Matthew handled matters involving medical malpractice, premises liability, nursing home negligence, automobile negligence, construction, and employment. He also previously worked in the compliance office for the athletics program  of a large public university, where he provided guidance to coaches, staff, and student-athletes regarding the interpretation of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) bylaws and university rules and policies. Matthew also assisted in the development of internal policies and procedures for the athletics program to help address the challenges it faces in the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics.
