Buyer Of 'Dirty Stopper' Show Jumping Horse Loses Suit

Litigation and Trials   |   August 21, 2017

Carlton Fields West Palm Beach Shareholders, Sarah Cortvriend and John Hart, won a case in favor of a competitive show jumping horse's former owner. The victory was featured in Law360 and The Palm Beach Post. A Florida federal judge ruled in favor of the former owner and trainer of Vorst, a competitive show horse, after a jury found that the former owner did not misrepresent the horse’s medical history, and thus, that it was not a “dirty stopper” when selling it. Cortvriend told Law360, “We are very thankful the jury considered all of the evidence and reached a just verdict.”
