Calif. High Court’s Starbucks Decision: Bombshell or Blip?

Carlton Fields’ Los Angeles Office Managing Shareholder Mark A. Neubauer was interviewed by Law360 about the impact of the California Supreme Court’s recent decision in Troester v. Starbucks. The ruling makes it easier for workers to sue employers over small, or “de minimis,” amounts of unpaid time, such as minutes spent locking up at the end of the day.
 
"In the past, the plaintiffs bar would not focus on de minimis variations," Neubauer said. "Now, the Supreme Court has given them case law to argue they can."
