Carlton Fields’ Appellate Attorneys Christine Davis and Peter Webster Discuss Mock Oral Arguments on “Issues in Appeal” Podcast

Appellate & Trial Support   |   August 30, 2020

Carlton Fields appellate attorneys Christine Davis and Peter Webster were interviewed on the Issues in Appeal podcast about the importance of mock oral arguments, or “mooting.” Regardless of a lawyer’s level of experience, mooting offers the opportunity to thoroughly prepare and practice oral arguments. The appellate advocate works with “judges” to analyze their strategy ahead of time, appropriately organize their argument, and deliberate difficult questions.

Davis and Webster offered tips on how to structure moots and when they should be scheduled. They also discussed Carlton Fields’ Appellate Edge, a program that provides clients the ability to conduct mock oral arguments with a panel of experienced Carlton Fields appellate attorneys in a traditional setting or online.
