Three Carlton Fields Intellectual Property and Technology attorneys have been recognized as the “World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” in the eighth edition of the WTR 1000.

  • Ethan Horwitz (New York Shareholder)
  • Douglas McDonald Jr. (Tampa Of Counsel)
  • Jill Sarnoff Riola (Orlando Shareholder)

The firm also ranked as one of Florida’s top trademark law firms.

Regarding Carlton Fields, The WTR 1000 noted: ”Heavy-hitting Carlton Fields can troubleshoot any branding problem thrown its way. Its IP squad is accomplished working on both sides of the contentious and non-contentious boundary, and it also shines in licensing transactions by working in tandem with the firm’s full-bodied corporate group.” Horwitz is featured as “a redoubtable trial litigator whose wide-ranging trademark and patent experience has seen him tackle many important cases both domestically and further afield.” McDonald is noted for his courtroom prowess: “He also doubles up as an effective mediator and can obtain out-of-court solutions when necessary.” Riola, a former in-house counsel, is praised for both her corporate and litigation skills and her ability to secure and expand the positions of her international clients in the market.

The WTR 1000 identifies the world’s leading trademark law firms and individuals in 70 key jurisdictions globally through an extensive research process conducted by a team of highly qualified full-time analysts. The publication is comprised of in-depth, jurisdiction-specific chapters that analyze the local market in contentious and non-contentious spheres to assist trademark professionals searching for such expertise.
