Carlton Fields Welcomes Litigator Amy M. Bowers in Miami

Miami, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Amy M. Bowers has joined the firm as an associate in Miami. She is the 13th attorney to join the firm’s Miami office in the past year.

Bowers is also a member of the firm’s nationally recognized Business Litigation Practice, which includes more than 150 attorneys in 11 offices. Corporate counsel recently named Carlton Fields a “best of the best” law firm in complex commercial litigation in BTI Litigation Outlook 2020: Changes, Trends, and Opportunities for Law Firms.

Bowers has deep experience in complex commercial matters, including international litigation. She represents clients in complex disputes spanning multiple jurisdictions and involving parallel proceedings. Bowers has advised local and international companies in the manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and health care industries at all stages of litigation. She has extensive experience drafting dispositive motions and appellate filings, as well as providing trial support during all stages of litigation, including pretrial and post-trial motion practice and supplementary proceedings. She also advises international and domestic clients seeking discovery, or objecting to applications for discovery, served under 28 U.S.C. § 1782 in federal courts around the country. Bowers has achieved multimillion-dollar settlements for corporate plaintiffs in cases involving antitrust and unfair competition claims.

As a professor of advanced legal writing at Florida International University College of Law, Bowers’ scholarship focuses on drafting effective dispositive motions and accompanying legal memoranda. She is also the chair of the Quality Control Committee of the Miami-Dade chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Bowers earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and her B.A. with highest honors from the University of Michigan.
