Los Angeles, CA – Carlton Fields attorney Steven Weisburd was included in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2023 “Top 100 Lawyers” list. This annual list recognizes the top lawyers in Los Angeles based on their legal skill and achievement, exemplary leadership, and meaningful contributions to the Los Angeles community.

Weisburd’s reputation for winning the unwinnable has made him a go-to lawyer for clients seeking to derail bet-the-company litigation through tactically executed legal arguments and advocacy. Over the past three decades, he has had notable success in securing motion victories, dismissals, defense verdicts, judgments, and favorable settlements for large companies such as Mattel, Fisher-Price, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, and Altria/Philip Morris.

In the community, Weisburd has devoted significant time to mental health advocacy as well as pro bono work on combatting domestic violence, and a related article he published in the Stanford Law & Policy Review is included in the legislative history to the Violence Against Women Act.

Weisburd is the managing shareholder of Carlton Fields’ Los Angeles office. His experience representing businesses and individuals spans federal and state courts across the country and involves class actions, business disputes, mass torts, multidistrict litigation, product liability, and other complex civil litigation for clients in the consumer products, mass media and entertainment, technology, and financial services industries. In addition to leading the firm’s efforts to grow its robust litigation practice, Weisburd is deeply committed to mentoring younger lawyers, with a dedicated focus on those from underrepresented groups such as women and people of color.
