Carlton Fields Shareholder Chris Coutroulis was quoted in the Daily Business Review article, “Survey: Class Action Defense Spending Rising.” Coutroulis told the newspaper:
“The concept in doing this is to launch a different kind of study than you find out there. We wanted to actually reach out to in-house legal decision makers to ask them how they go about approaching and managing class actions ... to assemble empirical data.
“This year’s survey collected input from general counsel or senior legal officers at 381 companies in 25 industries. Among its key findings: companies are spending more defending class action lawsuits, facing more class action lawsuits and encountering more “complex, high-risk or bet-the-company litigation.”
