We maximize opportunities to learn from business leaders in our communities and beyond. Our popular Carlton Fields Forums bring a wide range of innovators, many of them clients, to the firm for lunchtime discussions on topics that have included entrepreneurship, information technology, diversity initiatives, and social media. We benefit, as people and as lawyers, from these sessions, which often spark ideas that help us better serve our clients.

In-House Counsel Forum

This annual event, launched in 2010, connects the firm’s key clients from across the United States and abroad, providing them with networking opportunities and the chance to lead and participate in panel discussions about timely legal topics that they suggest, such as cyber security, driving diverse teams, improving the effectiveness of your legal department, litigation benchmarking, Carlton Fields's Class Action Survey, and attorney-client privilege in the corporate setting. CLE credit is arranged for our in-house representatives.

Forum attendees represent both public and private companies that operate in diverse industries, including financial services, telecommunications, development and real estate, energy, pharmaceutical, construction, manufacturing, media, restaurant and retail, and health care.

The one-and-a-half-day Forum, which is closed to the public and the press, is held at a Florida resort.

Client Advisory Board

Our Client Advisory Board was formed in 2009 to better serve our clients and improve our firm. It is comprised of key clients and other visionary business leaders across industries. The Board meets annually to explore diverse perspectives, experiences, best practices, insights, and innovation in a collaborative, informal setting. These meetings yield effective, real world business strategies, which we implement, and provide members with valuable introductions and networking opportunities. Past discussion topics include disruptive innovation, providing value for clients, and building relationships.


Client Focus Forums

Carlton Fields attorneys regularly conduct customized Client Focus Forums. The client creates the agenda, choosing topics that meet the needs of their company and personnel. A team of Carlton Fields attorneys with deep knowledge on the selected topics visits the client’s place of business for the day to present, at no cost to the client.

We have held Client Focus Forums across the country, for small groups as well as audiences of nearly 100, both in-person and via webinar. We work closely with the client to ensure they receive maximum value from the Forum, and our firm arranges CLE credit for participants.

Client University

Client University is an important part of the firm’s Client Focus Program. It provides us with an opportunity to hear from our clients about important issues that concern them.

Clients are invited to give a one-hour interactive presentation to our attorneys, consultants, and paralegals about their business, industry, and relevant legal issues. Topics addressed in the presentation are selected by the client and can include significant trends affecting their business (e.g., regulations; changes in the law; technology advances; consolidation, etc.); the company’s goals such as growth through merger or acquisition, expanded product lines, going public, etc.; the resources or contacts the company needs to succeed; and the services provided by outside law firms that are most important to them.
