International Litigation & Arbitration

International Litigation & Arbitration

Overview

Carlton Fields handles international litigations and arbitrations for U.S. and foreign clients across industries including aviation, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and technology. We represent them in corporate, commercial, and other business disputes brought in U.S. state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations before all major international tribunals, including the International Chamber of Commerce and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution. Our representations range from straightforward breach of contract disputes to complex international antitrust and securities matters.

The cases we handle often involve foreign legal and procedural issues, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, proceedings under the Hague and other international conventions, discovery in the United States in aid of foreign proceedings, and gathering of evidence overseas. Our efforts are aided by our long-standing relationships with an extensive network of foreign lawyers with whom we work regularly. Throughout the world, cultural and other differences impact the way legal disputes are handled. We are mindful of these differences, and equally adept at guiding our U.S. and non-U.S. clients through often unfamiliar terrain.
