Kevin McCoy is an experienced trial lawyer handling complex commercial litigation and civil cases. He has handled cases involving business divorces, civil RICO claims, qui tam whistleblower claims, defense of non-compete agreements, breach of contract actions (including UCC disputes), commercial evictions, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, and complex insurance coverage disputes.
Mr. McCoy is counsel to the largest vendor of red light traffic safety systems in the United States. In that capacity, he develops and implements legal strategies defending challenges to red light safety systems at the state and federal level. He is currently serving as counsel in multiple cases in the state trial and appellate courts. He is also trial counsel in several federal putative class actions challenging the use of automated red light safety technology in the state of Florida.
Mr. McCoy also has significant experience litigating products liability and toxic tort cases for clients in the tobacco and asbestos industries. This experience includes managing mass tort litigation across multiple jurisdictions, developing trial themes, and taking discovery of fact and expert witnesses. Mr. McCoy handles a substantial number of cases on behalf of Union Carbide Corporation throughout the state of Florida.
