Meredith Whigham Caiafa represents and counsels commercial insurance clients in complex coverage and bad faith disputes, including litigation in state and federal court.
She is a member of the firm’s Property & Casualty Insurance group, and works closely with corporate clients to not only effectively and efficiently resolve their legal issues, but also to develop strategies to help her clients achieve their business goals. In particular, Ms. Caiafa has experience advising and representing commercial insurers in complex insurance coverage disputes involving directors and officers liability insurance, representation and warranty insurance, errors and omissions liability insurance, professional liability insurance, commercial general liability insurance, first-party property insurance, and bad faith litigation.
Ms. Caiafa also specializes in appellate practice, particularly in federal courts of appeals and the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a judicial clerk to Judge Emilio M. Garza on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and for Judge Orinda D. Evans on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
