Jeff A. Cohen, Hyundai Motor America Victory Mentioned in Litigation Daily

Jeff A. Cohen was mentioned in a Litigation Daily article titled “Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs.” The article recognizes the trial team representing Hyundai Motor America in a design defect lawsuit filed in the wake of a fatal side-impact collision involving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, where the plaintiffs were seeking more than $25 million in damages. After a three-week trial in state court in Clark County, Nevada, jurors returned a unanimous defense verdict last week on claims that the deployment logic of the vehicle’s seat belt pretensioners was defectively designed. Hyundai’s defense team included a team of attorneys from Evans Fears Schuttert McNulty Mickus; Jeffrey A. Cohen of Carlton Fields; and Hyundai Motor America associate general counsel.
