Overview

Garland Gantt focuses his practice on a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac financings for multifamily projects; charter school projects; affordable housing developments benefited by 4% or 9% low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC); and construction financing. Garland represents financial institutions, including banks and capital market lenders, in the acquisition, construction, and financing of residential and commercial real estate properties. He is responsible for all aspects of closing real estate financing transactions and has significant experience with the full range of commercial loan products.

A former Division I basketball player, Garland seeks to provide the highest quality service through teamwork and a collaborative, partnership approach with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. He also uses his experience and training to help others and serve his community, including providing pro bono services to Bright Beginnings, a D.C.-based nonprofit that provides support to children and families experiencing housing instability, and mentoring law students at his alma mater, Howard University School of Law.
