Overview
Caycee Hampton is a litigator concentrating on national and local defense of complex litigation for pharmaceutical, medical device, and cosmetic manufacturers. Her practice includes general product liability and mass tort, as well as class actions alleging consumer protection violations related to labeling, ingredients, and other issues.
Caycee represents clients throughout all phases of litigation, including trial support and post-trial litigation, in federal and state courts. Recent highlights of her work include defending international corporations against claims concerning pelvic mesh, hip implant, and breast implant medical devices, securing the dismissal of a consumer fraud class action targeting an over-the-counter pain reliever manufacturer, and obtaining a dismissal for a hand sanitizer manufacturer against similar consumer fraud class action allegations.
Caycee's broader class action experience extends beyond the convergence of product liability and class action litigation. For example, she recently defeated class certification in a case involving claims that a brokerage firm violated fiduciary duties in its clients’ account selection.
Caycee is active in the Federal Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. Before joining Carlton Fields, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Virginia Covington of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
