Overview

Mandy Jesteadt's practice focuses on litigation and counseling in complex antitrust and telecommunications matters. She defends companies facing antitrust and unfair competition claims. In addition, as part of Carlton Fields’ antitrust cartel recovery practice, she assists corporate clients to recover damages from national and international cartels. Mandy also represents wireless carriers in nationwide litigation. She regularly handles matters across the country in federal and state courts and in arbitration, involving intellectual property, contract, consumer issues, and other matters.

Mandy has additional significant experience in litigation regarding trade secrets, consumer finance, loan servicing, and commercial foreclosures.

Experience

  • Representing several direct action plaintiffs in antitrust litigation concerning the poultry, pork, and beef industries.
  • Representing large health care conglomerate in commercial litigation alleging monopolization, group boycott, exclusive dealing, and merger-challenge claims brought by alleged competitor. 
  • Represented distributors, retailers, and telecommunications companies as direct action opt-out plaintiffs in multidistrict commercial litigation to recover damages for interchange fee price-fixing by payment card networks. In re Payment Card Interchange Fee & Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 1720 (E.D.N.Y.).
  • Represented several telecommunications carriers in prosecution of unfair competition, federal trademark infringement, and fraud cases before federal courts and arbitration panels across the country, including in New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Illinois, Nevada, and Florida; obtained several multimillion-dollar judgments and permanent injunctions. MetroPCS v. Fiesta Cell Phone & Dish Network, Inc., No. 4:16-cv-03573 (S.D. Tex. Nov. 2, 2017) (final judgment against defendants for $3 million in favor of client); MetroPCS v. Fiesta Cell Phone & Dish Network, Inc., No. 4:16-cv-03573, 2017 WL 958592 (S.D. Tex. Mar. 6, 2017) (final judgment against defendant for $7,421,025.65 in favor of client).
  • Represented several computer manufacturers, mobile handset manufacturers, and electronic manufacturing service companies as direct action opt-out claimants in multidistrict commercial litigation to recover damages from an international price-fixing cartel in the electrolytic capacitor market. In re Capacitors Antitrust Litig., No. 3:13-cv-03264 (N.D. Cal.).
