Overview

Madison Wahler is a litigator who focuses her practice on the insurance industry. She has defended numerous insurance companies and P&I clubs in complex coverage disputes in both state and federal courts, and regularly advises clients in connection with issues of insurer bad faith.

Madison has experience representing admitted and surplus lines insurers in a range of insurance coverage matters arising under residential and commercial property policies, commercial general liability, premises liability, builders risk, automotive policies, and all types of marine insurance including hull and machinery, protection and indemnity, marine liability, cargo, bumbershoot, and other umbrella insurance policies.

Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Madison practiced in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, liability defense, insurance coverage, and general civil litigation. She is fluent in French and taught at the University of South Florida before starting her legal career.

  • AXIS Ins. Co. vs. Olivia Yacht Ltd., No. 1:21-cv-23251 (S.D. Fla. Sept. 21, 2022) (granting summary judgment in favor of marine insurer based on a breach of the policy's navigational warranty).
