Washington, D.C. – Carlton Fields announced today that Emil Hirsch, formerly of Polsinelli, has joined the firm’s Washington D.C. office as a shareholder in the Business Litigation section of the firm’s National Trial practice group. Mr. Hirsch will add star power particularly to Carlton Fields’ deep and growing bench of health care and commercial litigation attorneys.

“Emil’s diverse experience will be an incredible asset to Carlton Fields,” said Roland Goss, managing shareholder of the firm’s Washington D.C. office. “He’s represented businesses in a variety of fields on a national scale, giving him the ability to approach challenges with creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. His expertise and network are vast and we look forward to bringing them to bear on behalf of Carlton Fields clients.”

Hirsch’s national practice focuses on health care and commercial litigation. He represents health care providers, financial institutions, real estate investment and management entities, developers, public utilities, and other public bodies and non-profit entities.

“Health care is a dynamic industry,” said Jim Kennedy, Carlton Fields shareholder and chair of the firm’s Health Care practice. “Our clients depend on us to deliver full service, whether it is contracts, compliance, litigation, corporate governance, administrative law, or whatever other issue might come along. Adding a respected legal talent like Emil, who has proven results in each of these areas, is an enormous boon to our capabilities and significantly increases our footprint in the health care industry.”

Hirsch also has significant experience in the real estate and utilities spaces. He has served as counsel for developers, owners, and landlords in numerous complex real estate litigation matters. Meanwhile, Hirsch also represents one of the most important public utilities in Washington D.C., having represented the client in significant litigation that reached D.C.’s highest court.

“Carlton Fields’ strengths align precisely with my own, making it an easy decision to join the firm,” said Hirsch. “I was extremely impressed with the maturity and depth of the firm’s health care and real estate practices. Furthermore, I’ve always been proud of the national scope of my work. Carlton Fields has the national presence to match, particularly in locations like Florida and Washington D.C. where I see tremendous opportunity.”

Hirsch earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law and his B.S. from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Maryland Bar. Additionally, he is fluent in German, Romanian, Hungarian, and Hebrew.
