The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) named Carlton Fields a 2020 Top Performer.
The LCLD Top Performer award recognizes organizations in the top 20% for participation in LCLD programs and activities. Carlton Fields is one of only 75 members acknowledged for their continued commitment to building more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession.
The firm has been a leader of the LCLD since its inception in 2009. Carlton Fields’ President and CEO, Gary L. Sasso, previously served on the LCLD’s board of directors and co-chaired the Fellows Program. Each year, the firm nominates an associate to serve as an LCLD Pathfinder and a shareholder to serve as an LCLD Fellow. Carlton Fields attorney Brian Porter is a current Pathfinder. Attorneys Dana Chaaban and Daniel Enriquez are also past LCLD Pathfinders. Former firm Fellows include Christopher Aird, Lori Baggett, Fentrice Driskell, Kristin Gore, Jin Liu, M. Derek Harris, and Alana Zorrilla-Gaston.
The Top Performer award follows several additional rankings recognizing Carlton Fields’ commitment to diversity:
- 4th in Law360’s 2020 Diversity Snapshot for “The Best Law Firms for Minority Equity Partners” and in the top 30 for “The Best Law Firms for Minority Attorneys.”
- One of the top law firms in the nation for female attorneys, according to Law360’s 2020 Glass Ceiling Report
- One of only six law firms ranked in the top 10 of all five of the Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms’ diversity rankings, which includes “Overall Diversity,” “Diversity for Women,” “Diversity for Racial Minorities,” “Diversity for LGBTQ Individuals,” and “Diversity for Individuals with Disabilities”
