Carlton Fields Tampa Shareholder Donald Kirk was quoted in the Law360 article, “Fla. Heart Doctor's FCA Settlement OK'd By Bankruptcy Judge.” The article discusses the multi-million-dollar settlement of a Florida heart surgeon and his practice, Institute of Cardiovascular Excellence. Kirk, who represents Fifth Third Bank, told the publication, “The debtors and their professionals engaged in a robust sales process that resulted in my client being paid in full at closing in late December. We closely monitored the process. The closing of that sale removed considerable potential objections to the settlement with the DOJ, including Fifth Third's.”
