Carlton Fields Attorneys Detail Appellate Court Victory

Carlton Fields attorneys Thomas E. Warner, Dean A. Morande, and Michael D. Sloan won a Fourth District Court of Appeal victory that was featured in Law360 and the Daily Business Review. The court ruled Carlton Fields’ client, Bluefield Ranch Mitigation Bank Trust, could challenge a permit for a road expansion project that might threaten the surrounding wetlands. The decision marks a shift in who can fight permits based on projects’ potential environmental effects.

“Before this case, there was no real oversight. No one was able to really get in there and challenge whether this process was being done correctly,” Morande told the Daily Business Review.
