What Contractors Should Know About Building on Sacred Land
Carlton Fields government law attorney Kenneth A. Tinkler was quoted in a Construction Dive article focused on what contractors should do if they may be building on a burial ground or other sacred land. He described the due diligence companies should perform on their selected site while planning a construction project. Tinkler also reminded construction crews that if they find remains, they should immediately phone police to make sure they have not stumbled upon a recent crime scene.
“It happens more often than you would think, depending on the location,” he said.
