Justices’ View on Credit Reports Carries Impact for Data Claims

Carlton Fields Shareholder Aaron Weiss was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article, “Justices’ View on Credit Reports Carries Impact for Data Claims,” about the potential impact of a pending Supreme Court ruling in a consumer credit reporting case, TransUnion LLC vs. Ramirez.

Weiss commented that the case is unusual, as it is a class action case involving a jury trial and could cause “a host of complicated issues” at the intersection of standing to sue and certifying a class.

He also added, “The oral argument did little to clarify the issues,” mentioning that there is a chance that the court could make as narrow a decision as possible.
