Carlton Fields’ Allison Kahn Quoted in Daily Business Review on COVID-19 Labor and Employment Litigation

Carlton Fields labor and employment attorney Allison Kahn was quoted in a Law.com/Daily Business Review article regarding a recent class action suit brought by six former Four Seasons Miami employees alleging that the resort disregarded the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act during the COVID-19 crisis.

Kahn commented that the complaint’s introduction could be seen as a strategy to push the property to settle, instead of getting involved in long litigation.

“The introduction in the complaint was meant to have a bullying approach to pressure Fort Seasons to settle regardless of merit,” said Kahn. “The formatting of how complaints are usually done, you don’t usually begin with an almost three-page statement listing grievances that you have against another party if they don’t have anything to do with the lawsuit …”
