Florida Awaits Appeals Decision on New Social Media Law; Legal Experts Say It Probably Won’t Survive

Carlton Fields appellate attorney David Karp was quoted in a WUFT article about a pending federal appeals court decision that could determine whether Florida will be permitted to prevent social media companies from shutting down accounts of political candidates.

Karp suggests that even conservative court judges could see clear constitutional violations in the recently signed social media law.

“Quite honestly, it’s not even a close question,” said Karp.
