These Island Locales Are Sucking Up Offshore Reinsurance Deals

Carlton Fields Shareholder Robert Shapiro was quoted in a Life Annuity Specialist article discussing the recent trend of carriers directing much of their offshore reinsurance business to Bermuda and the Cayman islands.

When asked about Bermuda’s dominance of the offshore market, Shapiro stated, “They have everything you could possibly need,” citing Bermuda’s public transit system, amenities, and deep bench of reinsurance expertise.
