DirecTV Says Impersonators Ran Promotion Scam

Carlton Fields attorneys Stacey Sutton, Gail Podolsky, Benjamin Stoll, and Aaron Weiss were included in a Law360 article, “DirecTV Says Impersonators Ran Promotion Scam.” The article discusses DirecTV’s recently filed federal lawsuits against a group of U.S. companies for allegedly impersonating DirecTV to scam its customers into purchasing prepaid gift cards in exchange for discounts.

According to the article, “DirecTV is suing for unjust enrichment, trademark infringement, false advertising, and violation of the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, among other things.”

DirecTV is represented in the Maryland suit by Stoll, Sutton, and Podolsky. It is represented in the Texas suit by Podolsky, Sutton, and Weiss.
