The Daily Business Review quoted Charles Throckmorton in an article titled, “Alternative Dispute Resolution Is Having a Moment, Thanks to Florida's Court Backlog and the Rise of Remote.” The article discusses the recent uptick of arbitration and mediation across the state, citing the recent backlog of state courts and the convenience of Zoom and other virtual communications platforms as cause for the upward trend.

Discussing the jurisdictional complexities of international cases, Throckmorton said, “Miami is such an international hub, and that’s more so the case every month.” In his view, parties see arbitration as a way to alleviate some of the cross-border complications.
