Gary Sasso, Richard Choi Interviewed by National Law Journal: “Carlton Fields Elects New CEO After Two Decades”
Gary Sasso and Richard Choi spoke with the National Law Journal about Choi's election as the firm's next CEO. Choi will succeed Sasso on January 1, 2028.
“The firm is at a very good place right now for this kind of transition. We are strong and thriving,” said Sasso. During his two decades in leadership, Sasso has overseen the firm’s transition from a Florida-based firm into a national firm with more than 350 lawyers and consultants and offices across New York, Los Angeles, Hartford, New Jersey, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C.
“My goal is to build on the strong foundation that Gary's built for us, he's been an iconic leader, a great leader, and that's really going to mean for me growing every practice group and adding new ones to meet our clients' needs,” said Choi. Choi joined Carlton Fields in 2014 and has previously served on the firm’s board of directors and as the leader of its financial services regulatory practice.
