Bill Sklar Quoted in Law360: “Suits Prompt Bills in Florida to Validate Mixed-Use Condos”

Bill Sklar was quoted in Law360, in an article titled “Suits Prompt Bills in Florida to Validate Mixed-Use Condos.” The article discusses recent court decisions that have prompted lawsuits challenging the legal structures of mixed-use development projects in Florida.

Sklar discusses Florida’s Condominium Act, which was written to cover ancillary uses — such as restaurants, salons, and convenience stores — of mixed-use condo buildings. "Of course, the residential condo [unit owners] want and expect and should be able to control their own budgeting and destiny and decision-making within their residential parcel," Sklar said. He goes on to comment on the implications the Condo Act could have on current and future lawsuits in this area.
