Carol McClarnon Quoted in Law360: “GOP Bill Would Codify Trump Private Equity 401(k) Order”

Carol McClarnon was quoted in a Law360 article titled “GOP Bill Would Codify Trump Private Equity 401(k) Order.” The article discusses President Trump’s recent executive order aimed at expanding 401(k) savers' access to nontraditional 401(k) assets like private equity and crypto, and a new bill aimed at codifying the order into law.

McClarnon highlighted the focus on alternative assets within a broader asset allocation fund as a major takeaway from the order. "What they're discussing here is the use of alternative investments in funds, as a component of an asset allocation fund, or a target date fund… This shouldn't be read by plan sponsors as a ticket to go out and put alternatives as a direct investment option on their plan lineups," she said.
