Carlton Fields Shareholder Andrew J. Markus Appointed to The Beacon Council’s Board of Directors

Miami, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Andrew J. (Josh) Markus, a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development partnership.

As a board member, Markus will assist with setting the Council’s strategic direction, increasing its public and private engagement and supporting its financial sustainability. He will serve through September 30, 2017.

Markus previously chaired the Beacon Council’s International Committee during the 2015-16 fiscal year. Beacon Council committees include industry leaders, and academic and community partners, who examine issues and opportunities within an industry that enable or inhibit job growth in target industries. Committees also assist with lead generation, business expansion, retention, and recruitment.

At Carlton Fields, Markus chairs the firm’s International practice. He represents U.S. and non-U.S. companies in international and domestic corporate transactions, including joint ventures, strategic alliances, mergers, acquisitions, public private partnerships, and multi-jurisdictional projects. He is Board Certified in International Law by The Florida Bar.
