Stephanie Chau Joins Carlton Fields in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, Calif. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Stephanie Chau has joined the firm as an associate. She is a member of the Business Litigation section of the National Trial Practice Group and practices in the growing Los Angeles office, home to several star litigators.

Chau’s practice focuses on complex business litigation and business formation matters. She represents institutional and individual clients across a wide range of commercial, financial, and shareholder disputes, including litigation of trade secret misappropriation, privacy, defamation, fraud, bankruptcy, contract, discovery, and evidentiary issues in federal, bankruptcy, and state court.

Prior to joining Carlton Fields, Chau was a litigation associate with Salisian Lee in Los Angeles. Previously, she was a special assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of California, where she handled cases through all phases of litigation. While working as a special assistant U.S. attorney, she chaired several federal jury trials, handled numerous appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and appeared in federal court hundreds of times. Before becoming an attorney, Chau was an associate at a large investment firm.

Chau is admitted to practice in California and to appear before the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Chau earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was an Editorial Board Member of the San Diego International Law Journal. She received her B.S. from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
